The Halton District School Board believes that homework supports the development of life-long learning skills and work habits such as responsibility, organization, independent work, collaboration, initiative, and self-regulation, and builds student’s confidence as learners. Homework is an opportunity for parents/guardians to have meaningful conversations with their children about their learning, and to provide support and encouragement. It is also a means of building partnerships between home and school.
Your child will be responsible for completing the following homework:
1.) Home Reading-beginning in October, nightly reading at home. Students are welcome to use classroom books, raz kids or books from home.
2.) Song Books-weekly reading of our shared reading song to be completed each weekend and returned on Monday.
3.)Occasionally, your child may be given an additional activity to work on at home which will be communicated to you in your child's agenda or by a newsletter.
4.)If you would like to work on developing your child's number sense please access Dream Box under Helpful Websites. This will be available soon. More information to follow.
Thank you for supporting your child's learning at home! Should you have any questions please don't hesitate to contact me.
